Ready to Travel?
Whether you are an avid traveler or this is your first time out of the country, . Because it is a small island off the East coast of Puerto Rico, there are only two ways to get there- by small plane (most are 8 passenger) or by ferry boat. Bonus fact? Puerto Rico is a US Territory, so NO passport is needed!
Tips for Purchasing Flights
Your airfare and transportation to Vieques is not included in your registration fee. It will be your responsibility to secure your flights. I recommend that all airfare is purchased by February 15, 2020. The easiest way to get to Vieques is flying directly from San Juan to Vieques. You can do this through Expedia all in one click. Please keep these things in mind when buying your flights:
Arrive on Vieques April 2nd between 3-6pm. You may choose to arrive at Puerto Rico a day or few early, make the most of your time, but please ensure your flight to Vieques lands during this window. We will provide a shuttle for you from the VQS airport to El Cerro, our retreat destination, during these hours.
There will be shuttles to the Vieques airport on April 8th between 7- 9am. Your flight out should be after 8 am (leaving us enough time to get you to the airport to check in). There are several daily flights to the main island during this window. This is a very small airport. If you need to be at the airport before then, you will need to pay for a taxi. If your flight is much later, you can choose to get your own taxi or just hang out at the airport!
